How to Properly Clean Jacuzzi Hot Tub Filters for Better Water Circulation

Quick-rinse technique

With your Jacuzzi pool pump and filter setup, make it a habit to rinse your filter every week, preferably with a garden hose. Use normal water pressure, as high-pressure nozzles can damage the filter fibers. Simply spray water between each pleat from top to bottom. Be sure to rotate the filter as you go to make sure you clean every section, and let it air-dry to avoid mold growth.

Chemical cleaning every month

Use a cleaning solution that can break down oils and organic residue without harming the filter material. You can spray it over the whole filter and wait for 15 to 20 minutes before rinsing it off. This should give it enough time to loosen stubborn buildup. For heavily soiled areas, use a soft-bristled brush to gently clean the surface.

When rinsing, you should make sure no cleaning solution remains. Any leftover residue can cause foaming in your spa water.

Deep soaking

You need to soak your filter for 24 hours, but don’t forget to gently move it around from time to time. By doing this, you can let the cleaner reach deeper into the pleats and loosen buildup.

After soaking, you can rinse the filter with clean water and make sure that no cleaning solution remains in the pleats.
